JUNE ENDS, THANK THE GOOD LORD

June was the first bad month of the year for my cash game and it ended last night with the single worst day of the year. Last night was chaser's paradise. Everytime I had the best of it I found the chaser that hit three lemons on the river. Some examples include holding KK and making pot sized bets to the river being chased by A6, and having him hit the A on the river. How do you call $25 with A6o when you hit not a single piece of the flop or turn? This kind of play is rare online anymore and it usually fills my coffers, but last night it was filling someone else's.

I flopped a set of 8s last night against AQo and the board came KQ8 all diamonds. He had the A of diamonds and after a blank hit the turn I went all-in for $70 or such and got a call. He probably figured he had an out with his A, but he knocked me off with a lucky diamond instead.

I also flopped a straight and played it fast and was called by the flush draw that hit.

The worst of the worst was flopping a set of 2s with the board of Q32, and having AQ raise me all-in and then seeing him hit A, Q on the turn and river. Everyone was Nostrodamus, but me.

I made the mistake of seeing so many people hit that I took a few chances with draws that missed. The tourney win actually gave me my best month of the year, but it was also the first month where I was in the negative for cash games. How do the poker gods know?
