GRAND PRIX

Once again I entered into combat with 245 others with my free ticket in this $100 tournament. I did not properly secure my room, and was fending off intrusions from my children early on that lead to my playing less than ideally. I missed some opportunities when I had the best hand, and I also lost a couple of heartbreakers. I was below $1000 and in need of something huge. I limped in with JJ, knowing that the flop would determine how I played the hand, and giving me the maximum number of opponents from whom to extract chips, should I trip up on the flop. I did trip the flop, which also brought a Q and two clubs. I called a bet and played heads up on the turn. The turn was a blank and the bigger stack bet more than half of mine. I came back all in, which he called with KK. I made the right play, and since I was short stacked, it was an easy call for him. He hit his K on the river and I was finished within half an hour of start time.
