DEAD ACES

About an hour into the next tourney only 60 of the 100 starters are left. I got crippled early on when I held 92 in the blind and 9J9. I couldn't get away from it. He never bet enough to make me think he had a 9, especially when the flush draw could have beat him. He did have the nine and it cost me about a third on my stack.

I was having little luck and got AA a half hour later. I decided to go all-in and got the caller I wanted. I barely won it. He played 79s, flopped a 7 and two spades. I dodged the danger to double up. Ten minutes later I get the aces again and a preflop raise in front of me. I play back at him and he forces me all-in with his KK. He hits the King and I'm a goner. Just like the earlier tournament, getting the opponent to do what you want doesn't always work. Why must my bad beats all come to bigger stacks?
