NEW TOURNAMENT AT POKER ROOM

8PM PST now offers the "$20,000 Guarenteed" tournament. The more people that entered, the lower the prize for the winner, but the more paying spots. With 535 entrants, the tourney paid over $2100 to the winner, but even 60th place got $54. It cost $20+2 to enter.

I was only playing hands worth playing. By the time the blinds were $200-400, nobody was entering the pot except whoever was stealing the blinds. The hand I died with was a steal attempt from early position.

I held A9c. I raised and was reraised. I called for heads up play.

Flop = 9 and two small clubs. I have to play to the river even if I'm up against AA, so I go all in.

Sure enough, I was up against AA and my dream club never came. I was okay with that exit. I was still hovering at $1700 when the average stack size was $4400. I needed something to happen, and this was a good attempt at doubling up. It didn't work out, but if I had been up against AK, I would have doubled up, so I'm not unhappy with how I played the hand. I finished 145 of 535.
