Third finish in or near the top 10% out of three tourneys and at three different places. There was nothing too interesting to report, but I made two good bluff reads that helped me stack up the chips around the first hour when I needed some scratch. I eventually fell with my 55 v QQ when my M was around 3. The one gamble I should have taken was my K9s on the button. I decided to limp in, but the blind raised and two other players called and I decided to sit it out. The flop brought two nines and raiser tripled up as they called down to the river with his lousy top pair. If I had stayed in the pot, he would have been gone from the tourney, instead he went from 3,500 chips to 50,000 chips in just 8 hands. I didn't stick around to see where he finished.
Law of averages has some catching up to do after the ring game from this morning.
10:33 My set of Aces beat a set of 7s
10:45 My set of 6s lose to a set of 9s
I'm involved in a set over set confrontation about once every 2,000 hands.
