These Poker Stars events are just plain fun. No where else have I seen so many people in one event again and again. This particular tourney was a player-point freeroll with $200,000 in prizes including 10 free seats to the WSOP main event. So my 596 was still worth $40 for the effort.

Looking at the amount of events and seats, I wouldn't be surprised if Poker Stars sent 15-20% or more of the field this year. One big Poker Stars blowout tourney near the end of the sattelite season is guaranteeing 150 seats. Madness! Why don't see online sattelites to the other WSOP events? Maybe the $1500 would be silly, but why not to the $5,000 event? A winner from an online site might not get the same amount of press, but the logo would still get a lot of ESPN time.
