JULY 2006 ANALYSIS
This was my least active month of the year. It basically went like this: I started out in a funk, playing sporadically and losing; I was forced to take some time off due to an ambitious personal schedule, then did really well upon my return. Variance may account for some of the turnaround, but I really think I came back rested and focused and I ended the month playing well, leading into my upcoming ten day trip to Las Vegas.
TOURNAMENTS = NET PROFIT $2332.50
I got off to a rough 0-18 start in MTTs before my mid-month hiatus, which included four bubble bustouts. After my break, I was 5-17 including two final tables and one victory. I finished 5/361 and 6/266 in $75 events at Full Tilt. It was a combined $2700 payout, but it mostly just got me to even on the month. I had no luck in the bigger buy-in tourneys and sniffed no cash in the major Sunday events when I did play. At the end of the month, I won a two-table $200 event for $1440, which made up for all that lost time. All told I made just over $1300 in MTTs.
In STTs, I cashed in 5 of 11 events and turned a profit of $831. The big win was when I won a Stage 2 Poker Classic event which gave me a $600 ticket into Stage 3. The money is only temporary, as I am sure to play that event in August, but maybe I can parlay the $600 into a $5000 entry into the land-based event. In Heads-Up action, I won once in two tries and profited $190.
CASH GAMES = NET PROFIT $245
I only played one session of NLHE for a couple hours early in the month and it was a winner. I also added $80 in bonuses from Full Tilt.
JULY 2006 = PROFIT $2657.50
2006 YTD = PROFIT $16,073
