LOWBALL

PokerStars recently introduced 2-7 Triple Draw Lowball. I spent several hours today testing her out at the $5/10 limit tables and won nearly $400. I was far from maximizing my earnings. I put a lot of money in the pot when I shouldn't have but somehow I managed to come out ahead on the day. It's a very streaky game. When I first sat down, it seems I was hitting every 86 hand but falling to the 85. I was down $180 before I won my first pot. I started getting the feel for the game and even figured out how to bluff in position by standing pat with a queen high or so when the other guy is drawing. Chances are he isn't going to make his hand so just come out betting and take down the pot more often than not. I've heard Daniel rave about this game and now I see how addictive and fun it is. I'll have to read the chapter in Super System 2 before my next session.

I introduced it in the home game the other night along with Badugi. It's fun to have something else to play now and then.
