FAILURE TO SWITCH GEARS

In the $200 Full Tilt Sunday major, I was cruising along as chip leader with 68 players remaining. A few things had gone my way and I had accumulated quite a stack of chips. I had over $120k when everyone else at my table was averaging around $20k. Somehow, I managed to blow it. I was pushing hard at the bubble, since chips were cheap for me, and I was accruing blinds and antes mostly unmolested, but then things went awry when some brave souls began playing back at me. It was obvious I was raising with mediocre holdings and a few guys decided to take their chances for a double up. One guy had KK, ouch; another had A/rag and bested my KT. Even the A7 sucked out on my AQ. The stack was waning and then all the things that had been going right were suddenly reversed as I lost coin toss after coin toss. Before long, I was a short stack, reduced to pushing all in with any ace. I survived awhile then exited with 55 versus 66. If only I had reigned in the aggressiveness a tad, I would have had little trouble getting to the final table and vying for the $45k first place money. Instead, I went out in a blaze of glory at 32/943 for a measly $660. I feel really rotten about letting this one get away.
