MIDNIGHT OIL - 3 of 102
I have not played much poker since Vegas due to a heavy travel schedule. I just got back from a week in an RV. I was able to watch my share of poker thanks to the cable hookup. I got home jonesing for the real thing. Tonight I joined the 11PM Midnight Oil. The tourney pays out thru 10 with tickets to the $100 weekly Grand Prix awarded the top seven.
I stuck it out a good two and a half hours. I made only one bad play all night and that was a $5000 call I knew was a loser, but the implied odds were tremendous with my flush/straight/overcard draw. I played well, never got overly aggressive, and even my exit was nothing to be ashamed of:
I held 56 three way in the small blind. I raised and the big blind called.
The flop was 78J. I checked, he bet, I called.
The turn was 9. I checked, he bet large, I raised all in, he called.
He held the unlikely T6 to send me to my grave.
I got $152 and a ticket worth $110.
Dude is back.
